April 25, 2021 Native Garden Tour – Sister District Peninsula
April 25 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm$25
Our talented Sister District member Elaine Salinger hosts a California native garden tour on Sunday April 25th at her home at 1407 Tarrytown Street in San Mateo. This event will be in person, outdoors, with COVID protocols in place. Elaine will provide a native garden tour and a discussion / demonstration of rain water harvesting. The tours will start at 12 noon and at 1pm.
Elaine and her husband have an extensive CA native garden with over 15 different types of Manzanitas, for example. The garden was started 20 years ago, but most have been planted over the last 3-10 years. Come and learn about native plants, how they support our pollinators, how to choose plants that are beautiful, how to create a continuously blooming landscape, how to place and care for them. You can also learn how to protect them from gophers, and where to purchase native plants. Her husband will demonstrate how to collect, store, and use rainwater to water your garden.
This is also a benefit for Sister District. We are asking for a $25 donation that will go directly to Sister District. Here is the donation link
